Compress Images to a Target File Size

Reduce JPG, PNG and WEBP images to a specific size such as 100KB, 200KB, 300KB or 500KB. TOOLKIT checks the final file size against your target.

🔒 Selected files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to TOOLKIT servers.
1KB = 1,000 bytes · the final file is checked against your target
When multiple images are selected, each is compressed to the target size and saved in one ZIP file. JPG cannot preserve transparency, so choose WEBP if you need to keep a transparent background.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose one or more JPG, PNG or WEBP images.
  2. Enter the maximum file size you need in KB and choose JPG or WEBP.
  3. Select Compress, review the result size, then save the output file or ZIP.

Helpful notes

Hit strict upload limits

If a form requires a file under a fixed limit, enter that limit directly. For a “less than 300KB” rule, using a slightly lower target such as 290KB can provide extra margin.

Quality and compatibility

JPG is widely accepted for photos. WEBP can be smaller, but confirm that the website receiving your file supports it. Very small targets may require lower quality or resolution.
